How can feminists say that male athletes do not dress sexy, while female athletes have to dress sexy?
sporting a side by side comparison of male and female athletes ? Surely What is sexy to (straight) men is not sexy to women and the other way around. Example beach volleyball. I haven't seen any public beaches where men try to impress the ladies with skin tight clothing and speedos. Baggy clothes on men seem the way to be sexy and attractive, rather than speedos and thats what we see at olympic beach volleyball. And before you say European beaches, obviously you haven't been here since the early 80s or ever and speedos are a sin Americans from the same time period share with Europeans. So how can feminists say male athletes do not have to dress sexy, because they do not wear the exact same outfit ? http://viv.id.au/blog/?p=2066 I reformulated my previous question to try and bring the point across better of what Iam asking. Well i DO think some female athletes dress sexy :p Princess I think you have a hard time at understanding and processing information. Eithier that or you get turned on by calling men gay. In that case Iam glad I could make your day :p .

- I dnt think female athletes dress sexy. They are in wat any person could wear to the beach for volleyball. and baggy clothes on males for beach volleyball is nvr seen. They wear speedos or trunks http://hippoleetoe.blogspot.com/
- Sexy or not sexy aside, if any of the athletes have complained (which some have) then they should consider getting better uniforms. Sure we all like to look at a nice body but the females are over-sexualized. If they wanted to sexualize the men then they'd be walking around without shirts on, wearing slightly shorter and tighter shorts so we can see the whole package just as the men get to see the whole package with the female athletes. If I want to see sexy I'd watch Michael Phelps before I'd watch some fully clothed male beach volleyball player. Sex appeal should be a secondary factor in the Olympics because this is considered the ultimate in sporting competitions, aka serious business. You can't perform well if you aren't comfortable in your clothing and you can't be comfortable when you're trying to spike the ball with a massive permanent wedgie.
- I think you are trying to say that male athletes do dress sexy, at least according to their definition of sexy. But it's pretty obvious that women don't find their uniforms sexy. Female uniforms, on the other hand, ARE appealing to men. That said, I think if anyone had a problem with the uniforms, they wouldn't wear them. As I said before, it's BEACH volleyball. Most players will wear their bathing suits and most women will wear a two piece because sand gets trapped against the body in a one piece and chafes. Men will wear board shorts (and not speedos) and usually be shirtless. I wouldn't mind seeing them compete shirtless, but I think there are rules that state the players name and number has to be visible on the shirt (as tiny as that shirt might be in the case of women's VB players). I don't think it's about attracting the opposite sex. Many of these are serious athletes that will do anything to come out on top. I remember a few Olympics back when only a handful of male swimmers wore the longer jammers or body suits. Everyone wears them now because they reduce drag and when races are won by hundredths of a second, why wouldn't you wear something that has been proven to better your time?
- I'm glad you fin the male atheletes sexy...whatever floats your boat.
