How come only about 10 or less out of 44 grid girls were chosen from the minority group in Singapore?

1. probably because the others were men...I don't know.
2. Before the race event day, there was a nation-wide search for 44 grid girls for the Singapore F1. Only the top 3 were awarded prizes. I'm not sure if all 44 of them were involved in the race event but in the live broadcast, u could definitely see a dozen or more of them there (they were all wearing red.. with bare midriffs). They were shown standing in front of the race cars prior to race start and also later, lining the corridor (and clapping) which Alonso walked thru right after he finished the race.
